The Freshman Academy's vision is to become one of the Central Valley's
elite academic programs, serving to provide our freshman students with
the essential academic core values necessary for academic success in
high school and ultimately in college.

The Freshman Academy's mission is to provide a safe and supportive
learning environment that fosters student academic growth and
acheivement, to equip students with the abilities and skills to,
handle the social and emotional infrastucture of high school, and
to instill them with a sense of duty and civic responsibility.

1. Facilitate a smoother transition for 8th grade students entering into
....the 9th grade.

2. Instill in students the pursuit of academic excellence and
....the development of positive character.

3. Increase the average GPA of all Washington Union freshman
....students.

4. Continue to maintain and recognize student growth on the
....annual STAR assessment.

5. Increase the overall passing rate of students from the 9th grade
....to the 10th grade.

6. Increase school connectivity and rapport amongst staff, students,

7. Encourage freshmen to participate in both school and community related
... events that serve to promote generosity, personal growth, and community
